Geordi Peats' Rugby League Journey
Starting with the Bulldogs
Geordi Peats began his professional rugby league career in 1989. He joined the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs team. His first top-level game was in May 1989. He played as a hooker for Canterbury. The Bulldogs won that game 16–2 against the Parramatta Eels. This match took place at Belmore Sports Ground.
In his first year with the Bulldogs, Geordi also led the Under 21 team as captain. By 1990, he was a regular player for the reserve grade team. Then, in 1991, he became a regular player in the first-grade team.
Key Moments and First Tries
In the first game of the 1991 season, Geordi Peats was named "man of the match." This was for the Bulldogs' 26–16 win over the Balmain Tigers. That game was played at Leichhardt Oval.
Geordi scored his very first try in a first-grade game in May 1991. This happened during a close game where the Bulldogs lost 18–16 to the Canberra Raiders. The match was held at Bruce Stadium. After 1991, Geordi spent most of the next three seasons playing in the reserve grade. His time with the Canterbury Bulldogs ended after the 1994 season.
Moving to Other Teams
For the 1995 season, Geordi Peats signed with the St. George Dragons. However, he faced many injuries before the season even began. Because of these injuries, he could not play any games that year. He left St. George at the end of the season without playing for them.
In 1996, Geordi joined the South Sydney Rabbitohs. He played for South Sydney for three seasons. These years were also affected by injuries. For example, he did not play any games at all in the 1997 season. After the 1998 season, Geordi Peats decided to retire from professional rugby league.
