George Edmund Baldred Baillie-Hamilton, 14th Earl of Haddington (born 27 December 1985), is a Scottish nobleman and a person who owns a lot of land. He holds an old family title.

Early Life and Education

George Baillie-Hamilton is the son of John Baillie-Hamilton, who was the 13th Earl of Haddington. He went to school at Belhaven Hill School and then Eton College. Later, he studied at the University of Glasgow. There, he earned a degree in arts and media informatics. This means he learned about art and how computers and technology are used in media.

Starting a Career

After finishing his studies, George moved to London. He worked as a freelance writer. This means he wrote for different companies and people without being a full-time employee. He even wrote for Mary Killen, who is known as an "agony aunt" for The Spectator magazine. An agony aunt gives advice to people about their problems. Mary Killen is also famous from the TV show Gogglebox.

Becoming the Earl and Protecting a Historic Home

In 2016, George's father passed away. When this happened, George inherited his father's titles. He became the 14th Earl of Haddington. He also inherited the family's large estate, which includes Mellerstain House. This is a very old and important house in Scotland. George decided to move back to Scotland. He wanted to take care of this historic family home.

In 2021, George Baillie-Hamilton married Constanza Dessain. Her father is Simon James Francis Dessain, from Inverkeilor, near Arbroath in Scotland.
