George Thomas Broadbridge, 1st Baron Broadbridge (born February 13, 1869 – died April 17, 1952), was an important British politician. He was a member of the Conservative Party. He was especially well-known for his work in the City of London.

Broadbridge held many important positions in the City of London. He was an Alderman for the Candlewick area. An Alderman is a senior member of a city council. Later, he became the Sheriff of the City of London from 1933 to 1934. In 1936, he achieved a very high honor. He became the Lord Mayor of London. This is a special role, like being the mayor of a very old part of London.

After being Lord Mayor, he was given the title of a baronet. This is a special honor from the King or Queen. In 1938, he became a Member of Parliament (MP). He represented the City of London in the British Parliament. He held this job until 1945. That year, he was given an even higher title. He became a Baron, which is a type of noble title. He was then known as Baron Broadbridge. When he passed away in 1952, his son, Eric, took over his title.

In 1933, George Broadbridge bought an old building called Lichfield House in Richmond. He decided to replace it with something new. He built two large apartment buildings called Lichfield Court. These buildings had a total of 211 apartments. They were built in a cool style called Art Deco. Today, these buildings are considered important historical structures.
