Other roles included National Security, Education, and Planning. He also worked in Industry/Commerce and Agriculture.

After the first Prime Minister, Eric Williams, passed away, George Chambers took over. He became the second Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago. This happened on March 30, 1981. He led the country during a challenging time.
