Corporal Jarratt was awarded the Victoria Cross for an act of extreme bravery. This happened when he was 25 years old, on May 3, 1917. The event took place near a town called Pelves in France.
During a very dangerous battle, Corporal Jarratt showed amazing courage. His actions helped his fellow soldiers and made a big difference in the fight. He sadly died on the same day, May 3, 1917, during the battle.
