Georges Beuchat (born February 11, 1910, died October 20, 1991) was a French inventor and a brave underwater diver. He was also a smart businessman. Georges Beuchat was a true pioneer in exploring the underwater world. He started his own company, Beuchat, which is still famous today.
Throughout his life, Beuchat kept creating new things. His inventions made underwater activities much better and safer. Many of his ideas are now famous. These include the surface buoy from 1948 and the first underwater camera case in 1950. He also invented the first fins with vents, called Jetfins, in 1964.

Georges Beuchat created many useful items for divers. Here are some of his most important inventions:
Diving Gear Innovations
- 1947: Tarzan Speargun – This was a special gun for hunting underwater.
- 1948: Surface Buoy – A floating marker used on the water's surface. It helps divers stay safe and be seen.
- 1950: Tarzan Camera Housing – This was a waterproof case for cameras. It allowed people to take pictures underwater for the first time.
- 1950: Tarzan Calf Sheath – A special holder for a diving knife worn on the leg.
- 1953: First Isothermic Diving Suit – This was a very important invention. It was the first diving suit made from foam rubber. It helped divers stay warm in cold water.
- 1954: Split Strap for Diving Mask – A new design for the strap of a diving mask. It made masks more comfortable to wear.
- 1958: Compensator Mask – This was a single-window mask. It gave divers a wide view underwater.
- 1959: Tarzan Fin Grips – These were special straps that held closed-heel fins securely on a diver's feet.

- 1960: Espadon Nervure Fins – These fins had special ribs to help divers move through water.
