Georgia coffee was first launched in 1975. It was created by Coca-Cola's company in Japan. Georgia is very successful in Japan. It is the top-selling coffee drink there. It's one of many types of canned coffee popular in Japan. In fact, by 2007, Georgia's sales in Japan were twice as much as Coca-Cola's sales!

Georgia coffee came to the United States in 2009. There, you can mostly find it in Asian grocery stores. In India, Georgia Gold is part of Coca-Cola India's drinks. In India, these drinks come from special machines. They are not sold in cans there.

In 2009, Coca-Cola used PlayStation Home to promote Georgia coffee. This was an online community for the PlayStation 3 game console. They put a special vending machine in the game. This machine took players to a place called the "Georgia Break Station."

What Was the Georgia Break Station?

The vending machine gave out special items for players' online characters. It also gave "C-pons." These were digital coupons. You could use them to get real Georgia drinks from real vending machines! The "Georgia Break Station" was a place for players to relax and chat. Two characters in the lounge would talk about Georgia coffee. This promotion ran from September 7, 2009, to December 15, 2009.

Collaborations with Digital Stars

In 2012, Georgia coffee worked with Crypton Future Media. This was part of their "Digital × Real Campaign." They featured the famous digital character Hatsune Miku in their advertising.
