Georgio Allentini, whose real name is George Allen, is an American singer, songwriter, and musician. He was born in 1966 and is known by his stage name, Georgio. He is famous for his funk and dance music. Georgio is also a multi-instrumentalist, meaning he plays many different musical instruments. He lives in California. In 2003, Georgio also worked on a film called Tapped Out, where he produced, directed, and starred in it.

Georgio's Music Journey

Georgio started his music career by trying to join Prince's record label, Paisley Park Records. He sent them demo tapes, which are like sample recordings of his music. However, this attempt was not successful.

After that, he decided to create his own record label, called Georgio Records. Through his own label, he recorded a song titled "...appeal" (sometimes written as "... Appeal"). Georgio mentioned that many people in Los Angeles were hesitant to commit to working with him at that time.

Joining Motown Records

In 1984, a famous record company called Motown Records became interested in Georgio. He eventually signed a contract with them. Russ Regan, who was in charge of finding new artists for Motown, heard Georgio's song "...appeal" on the radio. He felt it was a song Motown needed to have. Regan wanted to meet Georgio first, not just buy the song. After they had dinner, Regan was very impressed and excited about Georgio's talent.

Charting Success

In 1987, Georgio had several songs that appeared on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. This chart lists the most popular songs in the United States. Although none of his songs reached higher than number 58 on this chart, he found great success on another chart.

He was much more successful on the Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart. On this chart, which tracks popular dance music, he had four songs that reached the Top 10. One of his songs, "Tina Cherry," even reached number 1 on that chart! In 1988, his song "Lover's Lane" also became popular in the UK Singles Chart, reaching number 54.

Georgio's Film Work

Georgio also moved into making movies. In 2003, he released a film called Tapped Out. This movie featured actors like Coolio, Alex Avant, and Jimmy Bridges. Georgio was very involved in this film. He wrote the story, helped produce it, and co-directed it. He also created the music for the movie's soundtrack.

Before Tapped Out, Georgio appeared in a French documentary in 2000. It was called XX elles, and he was featured alongside other people like Estelle Desanges and Lisa Guerlain.
