Jimmy Bridges was born in San Francisco, California. His mom, Betty A. Bridges, was an actress and helped other actors with their careers. His dad, James Bridges Sr., was a talent agent. This means his parents helped people find acting jobs.
Jimmy has two siblings: his brother Todd Bridges and his sister Verda Bridges Prpich. Todd is also an actor, famous for the TV show Diff'rent Strokes.
