Todd Anthony Bridges (born May 27, 1965) is an American actor. He is best known for playing Willis Jackson on the popular TV show Diff'rent Strokes. He also had a memorable role as Monk on the sitcom Everybody Hates Chris. From 2008 to 2013, Bridges was a commentator on the TV series TruTV Presents: World's Dumbest....

Early Life and Family

Todd Bridges was born on May 27, 1965, in San Francisco, California. His mother, Betty Alice Pryor, was an actress and director, and his father, James Bridges Sr., was a talent agent. Acting runs in the family, as his brother Jimmy Bridges and sister Verda Bridges are also actors.

Bridges started his acting career at a young age. He appeared in popular shows like The Waltons, Little House on the Prairie, and the important miniseries Roots. He was also a regular cast member on Fish, a spinoff of the show Barney Miller.

His big break came when he was cast as Willis Jackson in the sitcom Diff'rent Strokes. The show was a huge hit and made him a star, along with his co-stars Conrad Bain, Charlotte Rae, Dana Plato, and Gary Coleman. After Rae's death in 2018, Bridges became the last living member of the original main cast.

From 2007 to 2009, he played the recurring character Monk on the sitcom Everybody Hates Chris.

Bridges has participated in many celebrity reality and game shows. In 2002, he competed in a Celebrity Boxing special against his friend Vanilla Ice and won. In 2006, he was a contestant on a celebrity episode of Fear Factor.

He also appeared on the reality show Skating with Celebrities in 2006. In 2008, he joined the cast of Hulk Hogan's Celebrity Championship Wrestling, where he created a wrestling character named Mr. Not So Perfect. He made it to the finals of the competition.

In 2022, Bridges was a houseguest on the third season of Celebrity Big Brother.

Music Video Appearances

Bridges has also appeared in a few music videos. He was in Penny Ford's 1984 video for "Change Your Wicked Ways." Later, he made appearances in Moby's 2002 video for "We Are All Made of Stars" and the Black Keys' 2011 video for "Howlin' for You."

Personal Life

Bridges has a daughter named Bo from a previous relationship. He also has a son, Spencir Bridges, from his marriage to Dori Smith. Spencir is also an actor and appeared in the movie Daddy Day Camp and on the TV show iCarly.

In 1998, Bridges and his brother James became heroes when they saved a 51-year-old woman named Stella Kline. Her wheelchair had rolled into a lake, and she almost drowned. Bridges said, "We felt God put us there at the right time to save this lady's life."

On September 25, 2022, Bridges married a designer named Bettijo Hirschi.
