Story of Daddy Day Camp

Four years after starting their daycare, Charlie and Phil decide to take their kids to Camp Driftwood. This was a summer camp they loved when they were kids back in 1977.

When they arrive, they find out that Camp Driftwood is now old and falling apart. It's not the nice camp they remember. To save the camp, Charlie and Phil buy a share of it from the old man who used to run it.

They soon face problems from Lance Warner, who was Charlie's rival when they were kids. Lance now runs a fancy camp called Camp Canola. He wants to buy Camp Driftwood just to tear it down. The first day at Camp Driftwood is a mess, with a skunk causing trouble and a bathroom exploding!

Because of these problems, most parents take their kids away from Camp Driftwood. They ask for their money back. But Charlie and Phil had already spent all the money on repairs. This leaves Camp Driftwood with only 7 campers instead of 35.

Charlie calls his military father, Colonel Buck Hinton, for help. Buck is very strict and helps train the kids to follow orders. Soon, campers from Camp Canola try to cause trouble at Driftwood.

Charlie and Phil's campers get revenge on Lance. Lance then challenges Camp Driftwood to the Camp Olympiad, a big sports competition. The kids start training hard for it. They really look up to Buck because of his tough but supportive military ways.

Charlie, however, has some old problems with his dad. He thinks Buck only cares about being tough. Charlie worries that his own son, Ben, might feel like a disappointment to Buck, just like Charlie did. One day, Ben runs off into the woods after some campers tease him. Charlie finds him, but then complains about Buck to Phil. Buck overhears this and leaves the camp.

On the day of the Olympiad, everyone realizes Buck is gone. Seeing the kids sad, Charlie goes to find Buck. He talks to his dad and they fix their problems. When they return, the kids tell them that Camp Canola has been cheating in the Olympiad for years. This is how Lance always won, even against Charlie when they were kids!

Buck comes up with a clever plan to win against Canola. They do well in the games, reaching the finals. For the final climbing course, Charlie lets Ben try because Ben is good at climbing. Ben falls, but then Becca shows everyone that Lance greased the wall! This proves Lance cheated. Ben then uses a nearby tree to climb up and hit the bell, winning the Olympiad for Camp Driftwood!

Lance's son, Bobby, is tired of his dad denying him. He turns against Lance and kicks him. Lance stumbles, and the wall's supports break, making the wall fall on Canola's trophies. They all smash!

Because Camp Driftwood won, many parents decide to send their kids there. This includes parents who had taken their kids away earlier. This saves Camp Driftwood from closing down!
