Gerald Eaton (born November 22, 1971) is a talented Jamaican-Canadian singer, songwriter, and music producer. Many people know him by his stage name, Jarvis Church. He is famous for his work in R&B and pop music.

Gerald Eaton has had an exciting career in music for many years. He is known for being the lead singer of a popular R&B-pop group and for his solo music. He has also helped other famous artists create their hit songs.
Starting with The Philosopher Kings
Gerald Eaton was the lead singer for a band called The Philosopher Kings. This group became very popular in the 1990s. They released several albums and gained many fans.
The band took a break for about ten years. During this time, Gerald Eaton started making music on his own. The Philosopher Kings later got back together and released a new album in 2006.
His Solo Music as Jarvis Church
When The Philosopher Kings were on hiatus, Gerald Eaton started his solo career. He chose the stage name Jarvis Church. This name comes from two streets that run side-by-side in Toronto, Ontario.
His first solo album, Shake It Off, came out in 2002. He then released The Long Way Home in 2008. Later, he created a series of albums called The Soul Station. These albums paid tribute to classic soul singers. The Soul Station Vol 1 (2012) honored Sam Cooke, and The Soul Station Vol 2 (2015) celebrated Curtis Mayfield. In 2022, he released Vol. 3: A Tribute To Bill Withers and Beyond.
Producing Music for Other Artists
Gerald Eaton is also a very successful music producer. This means he helps other musicians record and create their songs. In 1999, he discovered a young singer named Nelly Furtado at a music showcase in Toronto.
In 2001, he worked with his bandmate Brian West to produce Nelly Furtado's first album, Whoa, Nelly!. Their production team is called Track and Field. They were even nominated for a Grammy Award for Producer of the Year in 2001!
Track and Field also produced albums for other artists. They worked on songs for Esthero and Canadian rapper K'naan. They produced K'naan's albums The Dusty Foot Philosopher and Troubadour. Gerald Eaton also appeared on Nelly Furtado's song "Saturdays" from her album Folklore.
In 2007, he created music for and appeared in the TV show Da Kink in My Hair.
