Gerardo Fabián Barbero (born August 21, 1961 – died March 4, 2001) was a very skilled chess player from Argentina. He earned the highest title in chess, becoming a Grandmaster. Gerardo was born in Lanús, a city in Buenos Aires Province, and grew up in Rosario, Santa Fe Province.
