His Musical Journey
Gerardo Núñez was born in Jerez de la Frontera, Spain. He started learning guitar at a young age. His first teacher was Rafael del Águila. By the time he was fourteen, he was already playing with important flamenco singers (cantaores) and dancers (bailaores). These included famous artists like Tío Gregorio el Borrico and La Paquera.
Gerardo has recorded many albums as a solo guitarist. He has also played guitar for other singers. He has performed in many theater shows. Two well-known shows he played in were Mario Maya's ¡Ay Jondo! and Lorca's Yerma. He has also played at music festivals all over the world.
