She won Spain's Premio Nacional de Música (National Music Award) in 2001. This award was for her amazing performances. In 2022, she received the Princess of Asturias Award for "Arts." This is one of Spain's most important awards.

Her Life and Career

Carmen Linares was born in Linares, a town in the heart of Andalusia, Spain. She is known as one of the best flamenco singers in her country.

In 1965, she moved to Madrid with her family. She started her professional singing career in 1971. She first worked with the dance company of Carmen Mora.
