Gergely "Gergo" Vari (April 6, 1977) is a businessman of Hungarian origin, CEO of Lensa, Inc.
Biography
Gergo Vari was born on April 6, 1977 in Budapest, Hungary to a middle-class family.
In 1989, before the collapse of communism in Hungary, he moved to New York at age of 12.
In 1992 Gergo returned to Budapest, attending Varosmajori High School. Later he enrolled for McGill University in Montreal (1996-2000), where he gained Canadian citizenship. He also studied at Corvinus University Budapest and WHU in Koblenz.
In 2000, after completing his university education, Gergo returned to Budapest. There he built a job board website Jobmonitor.hu that was later rebranded as Profession.hu.
Career
In 2001 Vari launched Profession.hu job board in Hungary. It became the leader on a market.
In 2010 Vari launched a social media analysis engine Replise. It uses online data to generate business insights.
In 2015 Vari founded Lensa, Inc, which is a general U.S. job board. Lensa has more than 3.2 million unique users and ranks 9th among job search sites. It applies gamification to assess an organization's current team.
