Early Life and Education

Gergo Vari was born on April 6, 1977, in Budapest, Hungary. He grew up in a middle-class family.

When he was 12 years old, in 1989, his family moved to New York. This was just before big changes happened in Hungary.

In 1992, Gergo returned to Budapest and went to Varosmajori High School. Later, he studied at McGill University in Montreal, Canada, from 1996 to 2000. While there, he also became a Canadian citizen. He also studied at Corvinus University Budapest and WHU in Koblenz.

Building a Career

After finishing university in 2000, Gergo Vari moved back to Budapest. He started his first big project there.

He created a website called Jobmonitor.hu. This website was a "job board," which is a place where companies post job openings and people can look for jobs. This website later changed its name to Profession.hu.

Leading Job Search Sites

In 2001, Gergo officially launched Profession.hu in Hungary. It quickly became the most popular job board in the country.
