Germán Castro Caycedo facts for kids
Germán Castro Caycedo (born March 3, 1940 – died July 15, 2021) was a famous Colombian journalist and writer. He was known for writing about real-life stories and events in Colombia. His books often explored Colombian culture and how society and the economy affected people's lives.
Born in Zipaquirá, Colombia, Germán Castro Caycedo studied anthropology at the Universidad Nacional for three years. From 1967 to 1977, he worked as a writer for the newspaper El Tiempo. After that, he became the director of a TV show called "Enviado Especial" (Special Correspondent). This show was very important because it brought a new, modern style of journalism to Colombia and ran for about 20 years.
His writings have been enjoyed by readers in many countries, including Spain, France, Hungary, Japan, China, and Greece.
