Germán Quiroga Jr. (born May 29, 1980) is a professional stock car racing driver from Mexico. In 2011, he made history by becoming the first person to win the NASCAR Corona Series championship three times!

Germán Quiroga's Racing Journey

Starting Out in Racing

Germán Quiroga began his racing career in 1996 in a series called Reto Neon. This was his first step into the exciting world of car racing.

Success in the Corona Series

In 2004, Germán started racing in the NASCAR Corona Series (NCS). The next year, he won the Formula Renault championship, showing his skill. He then returned to the Corona Series in 2006.

His first big win in the Corona Series came in 2009. He raced for a team called Equipo Telcel. He was so good that he won the championship again in 2010 and 2011! This made him a three-time champion, which was a huge achievement.

Racing in the United States

In 2011, Germán also raced in the Toyota All-Star Showdown in California. He finished 12th in that race.

He first competed in a major NASCAR series in the United States in 2007. This was in the Busch Series (which is now called the Xfinity Series). He finished 28th in his first race in Mexico City.

Truck Series Adventures

Germán made his debut in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series in 2011. He raced in two events that year, with his best finish being 16th.

In 2012, he raced in four more Truck Series events. Then, in 2013, he joined Red Horse Racing and raced the full season. He was trying to win the "Rookie of the Year" award, which is given to the best first-year driver.

Germán also worked part-time on NASCAR on NBC TV broadcasts. He helped with the Spanish language broadcasts of NASCAR races in 2014.

The 2014 season started great for Germán. He had five straight top-ten finishes, meaning he placed among the top ten drivers in those races! After not racing in 2015, he returned in 2016 to race part-time for Red Horse Racing again.
