Germán Quiroga Jr. (born on May 29, 1980) is a professional stock car racing driver from Mexico. He currently races in the NASCAR Mexico Series. In 2011, he made history by becoming the first person to win the NASCAR Corona Series championship three times!

Racing Career Highlights

Starting Out in Racing

Germán Quiroga began his racing journey in 1996. He started in a series called Reto Neon.

In 2004, he joined the NASCAR Corona Series. The next year, he won the Formula Renault championship. He also raced in the Infiniti Pro Series in 2005.

Becoming a Champion in the Corona Series

Germán returned to the Corona Series in 2006. His first big win in this series came in 2009. He won the championship again in 2010 and 2011. This made him a three-time champion!

Racing in the USA

In 2011, Germán raced in the Toyota All-Star Showdown in California. He finished 12th in that race.

He also competed in NASCAR's national series. His first race was in 2007 in the Busch Series (now called the Nationwide Series).

Truck Series Adventures

Germán started racing in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series in 2011. He raced in two events that year. His best finish was 16th in his very first race.

In 2012, he raced in four more Truck Series events. Then, in 2013, he joined Red Horse Racing. He raced the full season and aimed for the Rookie of the Year award.

He even worked as a part-time commentator for NASCAR on NBC in 2014.

Germán had a fantastic start to the 2014 season. He finished in the top ten in five races in a row! After taking a break in 2015, he returned for a few races in 2016. Unfortunately, he couldn't find enough sponsors to keep racing full-time.

Back to NASCAR Mexico

Germán Quiroga made a comeback to racing in 2021. He rejoined the NASCAR Mexico Series, ten years after his last race there. He finished 10th in 2021 and 12th in 2022.

The 2023 season was much better for him. He almost won the championship! He was passed on the very last lap of the final race. Even so, he finished as the runner-up in the standings.

In 2024, he started strong with a top-five and a podium finish. However, some tough races later in the season meant he didn't make it to the playoffs. He finished 11th overall.

He is still racing in the 2025 season. He has already had two top-ten finishes and a top-five in Puebla. He even started from pole position in Aguascalientes and finished on the podium. As of July 28, 2025, he is 8th in the standings.
