Throughout his 18 years as a professional player, he played 500 league games and scored 33 goals. He made 287 appearances for Bologna, scoring 18 goals, and 213 appearances for Juventus, scoring 15 goals. In Italy's top league, Serie A, he played 329 games and scored 20 goals.
Time with Bologna
In his first time playing for Bologna, Marocchi helped the team win the Serie B title in the 1987–88 season. This win meant Bologna was promoted to the top league, Serie A.

Even though he was part of the squad, Marocchi did not play in any matches during the World Cup. This was because other strong midfielders like Giuseppe Giannini, Nicola Berti, and Carlo Ancelotti were also in the team.
