Gianluca Cristiano Busio (born May 28, 2002) is an American professional soccer player. He plays as a midfielder for the Italian club Venezia. Gianluca also plays for the United States national team.

Gianluca Busio's Club Journey
Starting with Sporting Kansas City
Gianluca Busio was born in Greensboro, North Carolina. In 2016, he joined the Sporting Kansas City academy. Before that, he played for North Carolina Fusion.
On August 25, 2017, Gianluca signed a special contract. This was a Homegrown Player contract with Sporting Kansas City. This made him the youngest player to sign with a Major League Soccer (MLS) club. The last player to do this was Freddy Adu in 2004.
First Professional Games
Gianluca made his first professional appearance on April 4, 2018. He played for Swope Park Rangers. This team is connected to Sporting Kansas City. They won the game 1–0 against Colorado Springs Switchbacks.
On July 28, Gianluca played his first MLS game for Sporting Kansas City. He came in as a substitute in the 77th minute. His team lost 3–2 to FC Dallas. Just one week later, on August 4, Gianluca started his first MLS game. This was against the Houston Dynamo. It was a tough game with many fouls and cards. He helped his team win 1–0 by assisting a goal. Gianluca was the third-youngest player ever to start an MLS match.
Moving to Venezia

Playing for His Country
In October 2019, Gianluca was chosen to play for the United States U17 team. They played in the 2019 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Brazil.
On July 11, 2021, Gianluca played his first game for the senior national team. He came into the game in the 62nd minute. This was during a CONCACAF Gold Cup match against Haiti.
He was also part of the team for the 2023 CONCACAF Gold Cup. He started two games in the group stage. Gianluca scored his first goal for the senior national team against Trinidad and Tobago. This happened in his home state of North Carolina. He then played the whole quarter-final game against Canada. He helped cause an own-goal by Scott Kennedy.
