History of Gibbsville
Gibbsville was first settled in 1836 by three brothers named James, John, and Benjamin Gibbs. They were the first to build homes and start a community here.
For many years, Gibbsville had its own post office, which helped people send and receive letters. This post office was open from 1846 until 1907. The community also had a school that taught local children from 1900 to 1977.

- Henry W. Timmer was born in Gibbsville. He became a successful businessman and also served as a State Assemblyman in Wisconsin. This means he was a lawmaker who helped make decisions for the state.
