Gilberto (born 25 April 1976) is a Brazilian football player. He plays as a defender for Cruzeiro.
Gilberto's Football Journey
Gilberto started his professional football career in 1995. He played for several big clubs in Brazil. These included América, Flamengo, Vasco da Gama, Grêmio, and São Caetano.
Playing in Europe
After playing in Brazil, Gilberto moved to Europe. He joined Internazionale Milano in Italy for a short time. Later, he played for Hertha Berlin in Germany. He was with Hertha Berlin from 2004 to 2008.
In 2008, Gilberto moved to England. He joined Tottenham Hotspur, a well-known team in the Premier League. After his time in Europe, he returned to Brazil. He started playing for Cruzeiro in 2009.
Playing for Brazil
Gilberto also played for the Brazilian national team. This is a big honor for any football player. He represented his country from 2003 to 2008.
