Gilmer McCormick is an American actress and singer. She is well-known for her roles in the musical Godspell, both on stage and in the movie version from the early 1970s. She also played Sister Margaret in a 1984 film.

Gilmer McCormick was born in Louisville, Kentucky. She grew up and went to school there. In 1965, she finished her studies at Moravian Academy. This school is located in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
After high school, Gilmer went to Carnegie Mellon University. This university is in Pittsburgh. She studied there and graduated in 1969.

Gilmer McCormick started her acting career in films. She appeared in two movies in 1972: Squares and Slaughterhouse-Five.
Godspell: Stage to Screen
A big part of her career was the musical Godspell. She was part of the original stage show. Later, she joined many of her fellow cast members for the 1973 movie version.
On stage, Gilmer had a solo song called "Learn Your Lessons Well." This song was very popular. Even though it wasn't in the movie, you can still hear her singing it on the off-Broadway cast recording.
