Adams is well-known for her artwork made from old quilts. But her art includes many other styles and materials. She also creates sculptures, ceramics, paintings, prints, and drawings.

Her artwork often focuses on the agreements, called treaties, that were broken between the U.S. government and Native American tribes. Her art has been shown in famous publications like The New Yorker and Hyperallergic.

Special Art Projects

Gina Adams's art was part of an exhibit called "March Madness" in New York City. For this show, she displayed old photos of a girls' basketball team. These photos were from the Osage Boarding School.

About Boarding Schools

Boarding schools like Osage were places where Indigenous children were sent. The goal was to make them forget their Native culture. Children were often not allowed to speak their own language. They were sometimes even told they could not use their own names. Adams's art helps people remember these important parts of history.
