Gina Dirawi (born 11 December 1990) is a famous Swedish television host, singer, writer, and comedian. She is best known for hosting Melodifestivalen three times. This is a big music competition in Sweden. Gina has also hosted many other TV and radio shows. She has released her own music and acted in plays.

About Gina Dirawi
Gina Dirawi was born on 11 December 1990 in Sundsvall, Sweden. She is the second of four children. Her family is from Lebanon and has Palestinian roots. Her father moved to Sundsvall to study. Later, her parents settled there. Her grandfather was an imam in Sundsvall.
Gina's Career Journey
Gina Dirawi started her career in March 2009. She began with a blog called Ana Gina. This means "I am Gina" in Arabic. By August 2009, she started making video blogs, also known as vlogs.
Starting with Vlogs and YouTube
Gina is seen as one of Sweden's first big YouTubers. In 2009, she even reached the final auditions for Idol, a TV music show. Her vlogs often showed funny characters. These characters made fun of Swedish and Palestinian cultures.
Gina gained a lot of fans by sharing videos on YouTube. By May 2016, her videos had over 18 million views!
Her popular characters included:

Hosting Big Shows
Gina Dirawi is famous for hosting Melodifestivalen three times. She hosted it in 2012, 2013, and 2016. She was the first woman to host it so many times.
She won the award for best female TV host at the Kristallen awards in 2012 and 2013. This is a major TV award in Sweden.
Gina also hosted the Swedish Grammy Awards in 2014 and 2015. She hosted Musikhjälpen (Music Aid) in 2011, 2012, and 2015. In 2015, she also hosted SVT's traditional Christmas Eve show.
In 2016, Gina was the Swedish spokesperson for the Eurovision Song Contest. She announced Sweden's votes. She also hosted Studio Eurovision, a show that covered news about the contest.
Early TV and Radio Work
From February to August 2010, Gina worked as a reporter for a radio channel. She had also studied at Mid Sweden University.
Before the 2010 elections, Swedish Television (SVT) noticed Gina. She started blogging about the election on SVT's website. Then, she hosted a web talk show called The Ana Gina Show. It had 32 episodes and featured famous guests. Her characters also appeared in funny skits on the show.
In late 2011, her second show, The Fabulous Life of Ana Gina, started on SVT Play. It featured international guests.
On August 18, 2011, Gina was a summer host on a radio program called Sommar i P1. She talked about being a young Muslim girl with an immigrant background in Sweden.
From December 12–18, 2011, she co-hosted Musikhjälpen 2011.
Breakthrough Years (2012–2013)
On October 31, 2011, it was announced that Gina would host Melodifestivalen 2012. She was the first host born in the 1990s. People really liked her performance. She also helped commentate on the Eurovision 2012 broadcasts.
In spring 2012, her show The Fabulous Life of Ana Gina had a second season. This time, it was filmed in Hollywood.
In summer 2012, Gina hosted a radio show called Hallå i P3. She also wrote articles for a newspaper.
Gina co-hosted Musikhjälpen again in 2012.
For Melodifestivalen 2013, Gina returned as a host. She also hosted Studio Eurovision, a show before the Eurovision Song Contest 2013. She interviewed many interesting people for it.
On June 1, 2013, Gina hosted a charity campaign for SVT. She also hosted Hallå i P3 again in summer 2013. She co-hosted the Kristallen 2013 awards.
TV, Theater, and Music (2014–2018)
In 2014, Gina hosted the Grammisgalan (Swedish Grammys). She hosted it again in 2015 by herself.
On August 27, 2014, Gina released her first song, "LOVE." She wrote the song herself. At the same time, her new TV series Ginas värld (Gina's World) started. It featured interviews with many different people.
On March 10, 2015, she released her second song, "Mad Woman."
Her series Ginas show started in March 2015. The second season of Ginas värld premiered in August 2015. It included interviews with people from different parts of the world.
In October 2015, her interview program Edit: Dirawi premiered.
In November 2015, Gina was announced as the host for the 2015 Christmas Eve broadcast. She was the youngest person ever to host it. She also co-hosted Musikhjälpen 2015.
In spring 2016, Gina was the main host of Melodifestivalen 2016. She also hosted the pre-show for Eurovision and announced Sweden's votes.
In August 2016, Gina co-hosted a show called Årets retro. That fall, she played the main role in a play called Donna Juanita at the Stockholm City Theatre.
On December 9, 2016, Gina released another song, "Hurt You So Bad."
In 2017 and 2018, Gina co-hosted 11 Friday finals of Idol.
Documentary, Book, and Album (2019–2022)
In December 2019, a documentary about Gina aired on SVT. It was called What Happened to Gina Dirawi?. It explored her life and the challenges she faced.
On March 4, 2020, Gina published her first book. It is called Paradiset ligger under mammas fötter (Paradise Lies Beneath Mother's Feet). The book is about freedom, friendship, and fairness.
On February 18, 2022, Gina released her first music album, Meet Me in Jannah. Some of her songs from this album were featured in the Netflix series Young Royals.
In January 2022, Gina hosted the Swedish Oscars, called Guldbaggegalan.
In May 2022, SVT showed Gina's documentary series Gina Dirawi lever och dör. It was about big life questions and feelings. Gina also produced this series.
Gina also served on the jury for the Kristallen awards in 2021, 2022, and 2023.
Recent Work (2023–Present)
In 2023, Gina's album Meet Me in Jannah was nominated for Pop Album of the Year. This was at the Manifest Gala.
Her music video for "Meet Me in Jannah" was also nominated for "Music Video of the Year" at the Grammis Gala 2023. The video received nominations at other international film festivals too.
In 2022, Gina released an Arabic version of a song called "Urban City." She also released the song "Albi Tarakni."
In 2023, Gina played the main role in a short film called Dissonans. It was shown at the Göteborg Film Festival.
In spring 2024, Gina started the Gina Dirawi Foundation. On June 6, the first two Gina Dirawi Scholarships were given out. These scholarships help young creative people.
