Giovanna's Early Life and Career Beginnings
Giovanna Andrade was born in Guayaquil, Ecuador. She started her career in television in 2004. Her first big role was as the main character in the telenovela Yo vendo un ojos negros for the Ecuavisa TV network. A telenovela is like a long TV drama series, often with many episodes.
After this show, Giovanna wanted to learn more about acting. She planned to study at a famous acting school in New York. However, her plans changed when she had a difficult pregnancy. Instead, she took an acting workshop with Mexican actress Martha Zavaleta in Florida.
Returning to Ecuador and New Roles
Giovanna came back to Ecuador in 2006. A year later, in 2007, she starred in the very popular telenovela La novela del Cholito on Ecuavisa. In this show, she played a character named "La Niña" María Gracia.
In 2008, Giovanna also started acting in movies. Her first film was an Ecuadorian drama called Retazos de vida. She acted alongside other well-known actors like Érika Vélez and William Levy.
Acting in Peru
Between 2009 and 2010, Giovanna lived in Peru for a while. During this time, she appeared in several TV series. These included El Enano, Grupo Puro Corazón, and Broders. She also joined the Peruvian telenovela Los Barriga.
Back on Ecuadorian Television
Giovanna returned to Ecuadorian television in 2010. She joined the second season of La pareja feliz on Teleamazonas. In the same year, she played her popular character "La Niña" María Gracia again. This was for Mostro de Amor, which continued the story from La novela del Cholito.
In 2011, Giovanna appeared in a music video. It was for the song "No me pidas tiempo" by the singer Daniel Beta. Later in 2011, she moved to Canal Uno and became a host for the morning show Divinas. After that, she worked for the Telerama network. There, she hosted programs like N 'Boga and De mujer a mujer. In 2013, she made a guest appearance on the comedy series ¡Así pasa! on Ecuavisa.
Recent Work and International Projects
In 2016, Giovanna Andrade returned to Ecuavisa. She became the host of the program Desde casa, which was broadcast internationally. In the same year, she had a main role in the first season of the telenovela La Trinity.
In 2017, Giovanna was chosen to star in another music video. This one was for the song "Si tu la ves" by reggaeton singers Nicky Jam and Wisin. The video was filmed in different cities across Ecuador.
In 2018, Giovanna signed a special contract with a Colombian TV network called RCN Televisión. She then appeared in the second season of the telenovela Heart's Decree. After that, she joined the series El final del paraíso.
Beauty Contest Participation
In 2019, Giovanna Andrade shared on social media that she would be part of a beauty contest. The contest was called Mrs. Globe and took place in Shenzhen, China. She represented Ecuador in the competition. Giovanna competed with 71 other women from different countries. During the event, she wore a special costume inspired by the mountains of Ecuador. She was chosen as the vice-queen of the contest. Later, she decided to give up her title and crown due to disagreements with the organizers.
