Early Life and Fashion Journey
Giovanna grew up in Milan, Italy. She studied at the Brera Fine Arts Academy, a special art school where her mother teaches sculpture.
Starting in Fashion
When Giovanna was a teenager, she began her career as a model. She worked for the fashion brand Dolce & Gabbana. However, she soon decided to focus on styling instead of modeling on the catwalk.
Becoming a Stylist
Giovanna started working as a stylist for a fashion magazine called Pig. Later, she joined Vogue magazine, working with famous fashion editors like Anna Dello Russo and Franca Sozzani. She helped create amazing fashion stories for Vogue Gioiello and Vogue Pelle.
Working with Top Photographers and Brands
As a stylist, Giovanna worked with many talented photographers. These included Peter Lindberg, Patrick Demarchelier, Paolo Roversi, and Mario Sorrenti. She also styled campaigns for big fashion brands. Some of these brands were Carolina Herrera, Michael Kors, and Dolce & Gabbana.

Designing Collections
Giovanna launched her first collection for Swarovski, called Collection One, in February 2021. She said it was inspired by her own style and old designs by Swarovski's founder, Daniel Swarovski. Her second collection, Collection II, came out in September 2021. It was inspired by the Austrian Arts and Crafts movement.
Personal Life
In 2016, Giovanna married Oscar Engelbert in Capri, Italy. Oscar is a property developer. In 2019, they had a daughter named Talitha Italia Engelbert. The family lives in Stockholm. Giovanna also has another daughter, Elvira Engelbert, who was born in 2006.
Giovanna has four siblings, including the fashion designer Sara Battaglia.
