Giovanna started acting in theater when she was twelve years old. After that, she began modeling. She also studied acting for theater, film, and TV.

Her first big role was in the TV series Malhação. She played a character named Marcinha. Later, she joined the team of the TV show Video Show as a reporter and sometimes a presenter. In 2016, she decided to leave Globo.
