Giovanni Battista Rabino (born December 15, 1931 – died March 12, 2020) was an Italian politician. He was a member of the Christian Democracy political party. He served in the Italian Parliament for many years.
Life and Career
Giovanni Battista Rabino was born in a town called Montaldo Scarampi in Italy. Before he became a politician, he worked as a trade unionist. This means he helped organize workers to protect their rights and improve their working conditions. He was active in a group called Coldiretti in Alessandria.
Rabino later became involved in politics. He was elected to the Chamber of Deputies, which is like one part of Italy's parliament. He served there from 1983 to 1992. After that, he became a Senator for one term, from 1992 to 1994. He also served as the mayor of his hometown, Montaldo Scarampi, from 2004 to 2009.
Later Years and Passing
Giovanni Battista Rabino passed away on March 12, 2020. He died from COVID-19 at a hospital in Asti, Italy. His funeral was held two days later.
