Giovanni Giuseppe Brunero (born October 4, 1895 – died November 23, 1934) was a famous Italian professional cyclist. He was known for winning some of the biggest bike races of his time.

Who Was Giovanni Brunero?
Giovanni Brunero was born in a town called San Maurizio Canavese in Italy. He started his professional cycling career in 1920. Right away, he showed he was a strong rider.
Brunero's Early Success
In 1920, Giovanni finished fifth in the tough Milan–San Remo race. That same year, he became the Italian junior champion. He also came in second at the Giro di Lombardia and won the Giro dell'Emilia. He even beat other famous cyclists like Gaetano Belloni and Costante Girardengo.
Winning the Giro d'Italia
During the 1920s, Giovanni Brunero was one of the best cyclists in the Giro d'Italia. This is one of the most important bike races in the world. He won the overall title three times: in 1921, 1922, and 1926. This shows how dominant he was in long stage races.
Other Important Wins
Besides his Giro d'Italia victories, Brunero also won other major races. He won the Milan–San Remo race in 1922. He also won the Giro di Lombardia twice, in 1923 and 1924. These are called "Classics" and are very hard one-day races.
Giovanni Brunero passed away in Cirié in 1934.
