The Story of Giri Bandhu Tea
The Giri Bandhu tea farm was started in the 1950s by four people: Shamsher Giri, Tek Bahadur Giri, Padam Bahadur Giri, and Bhagawan Giri. It has always been a family-run business since it began. At first, the farm was small and made only a little bit of tea. But over time, it grew a lot and became one of the most famous tea farms in Nepal.
Where to Find the Tea Estate
The tea estate is located right next to the Mahendra Highway, which is a major road. It's just east of Birtamod, a city that is growing fast. You can often see the tea farm from the road. Many people driving by stop to take pictures because it's a beautiful sight. Most of the farm's land stretches out for many kilometers on both sides of the road, so you can't see all of it from the highway. The estate also has its own factory nearby, surrounded by the tea fields. This is where they process the fresh green tea leaves.
