Gisela Raquel Mota Ocampo (born March 13, 1982 – died January 2, 2016) was a Mexican politician. She was a member of the PRD. In 2013, she served as a deputy in the LXII Legislature of the Mexican Congress. She represented the state of Morelos.
After winning the elections in June 2015, Gisela Mota Ocampo became the mayor of Temixco. She took office on January 1, 2016. Sadly, she was killed the very next day, on January 2, 2016. She was the first woman to become mayor of Temixco.

Serving as a Deputy
From September 2012 to August 2015, Gisela Mota Ocampo served as a deputy. A deputy is like a representative in the country's parliament. She worked in the Chamber of Deputies. This is a key part of the Mexican Congress. As a deputy, she helped make laws for the country. She represented the people of Morelos state.
Becoming Mayor of Temixco
In June 2015, Gisela Mota Ocampo won the election to become mayor. She was elected to lead the city of Temixco. This was a big achievement for her. She officially started her term as mayor on January 1, 2016. She was the first woman to hold this important position in Temixco.
Tragic Event: Gisela Mota Ocampo's Death
On the morning of January 2, 2016, a very sad event occurred. This was just one day after she became mayor. Several armed men entered her home in Pueblo Viejo. They shot and killed Gisela Mota Ocampo at her doorway.
Police Response and Aftermath
Soon after the attack, the police quickly responded. They chased the attackers. Police officers killed two of the gunmen. They also arrested two other people involved.
Following this tragic event, the Governor of Morelos, Graco Ramírez, declared three days of mourning. This meant the state was in a period of sadness. All flags on state buildings were lowered to half-mast. Governor Ramírez also ordered more security for all mayors in the state. This was to help protect them.
