Story of the Film
The movie tells the story of a young man named Petr. After his father passes away, Petr's stepmother, Dorota, tries to get rid of him. She even tricks the local governor into arresting Petr.
Petr's Escape and New Friends
Petr manages to escape from prison. During his escape, he meets two princesses, Angelina and Adélka. Petr is quite taken with Angelina, but she doesn't seem to notice him. However, Adélka quickly develops feelings for Petr and tries to help him.
Joining the Army and a Young Devil
Petr is forced to join the army, where a tough corporal makes his life difficult. Meanwhile, in the underworld, a young, inexperienced devil named Janek makes a big mistake. He is supposed to take Dorota to the devil's realm, but he accidentally takes Petr's grandmother instead!
Janek's Mission and a New Friendship
Lucifer, the ruler of the underworld, is very angry with Janek. He sends Janek back to fix his mistake. Janek accidentally joins the army and loses his devil powers when soldiers burn his special wolf's tail. He meets Petr, and they become good friends. Petr decides to help Janek get his powers back. He even finds a new wolf's tail for Janek.
Journey to the Underworld
With Janek's powers restored, they escape the army. They then manage to take Dorota to the underworld, correcting Janek's earlier mistake. Petr ends up working in the underworld for a while.
Petr's Wishes and a Clever Plan
Eventually, Lucifer decides to release Petr and grants him three wishes. Petr wishes for a magic coat that can produce a golden coin every time he puts his hand in its pocket. He also wishes for his grandmother to be released from the underworld and for the mean corporal to be taken there instead. Lucifer agrees to these wishes. He also asks Petr and Janek to bring the governor to the underworld.
The magic coat changes Petr's appearance, so no one recognizes him. He starts giving money to everyone who needs it. This helps him trick the governor and the corporal into meeting Janek, who then takes them to the underworld.
Love and a Happy Ending
The local Count, whose land is now very poor, decides to ask Petr for help. Petr agrees, but only if the Count allows him to marry one of his daughters. The Count agrees. Angelina is not happy because Petr looks like a devil. But Adélka, who truly loves Petr, recognizes him and is very happy.
Petr then takes all the golden coins he needs and takes off the magic coat, returning to his normal self. He visits the Count's castle as a handsome gentleman to ask for his daughter's hand. When Angelina sees him, she changes her mind and wants to marry him. However, Petr tells her that he asked for Adélka's hand. Petr and Adélka get married, and Angelina ends up joining Lucifer in the underworld.
