Gizem Güreşen is a famous Turkish volleyball player. She was born on January 14, 1987. Gizem is 1.76 meters tall. She plays in a special position called libero. A libero is a defensive player who helps keep the ball from hitting the ground.

Gizem's Volleyball Journey
Gizem started playing volleyball in Ankara, Turkey. She trained with the youth team of VakıfBank Güneş Sigorta. This was the start of her amazing career.
Playing for VakıfBank
Gizem Güreşen had great success with the VakıfBank team. In the 2010–11 season, her team won the CEV Champions League. This is a very important European volleyball competition. Gizem was named the "Best Receiver" in that tournament.
In 2011, Gizem and VakıfBank won a silver medal at the FIVB Women's Club World Championship. This event took place in Doha, Qatar. Gizem also received the "Best Libero" award there.
She continued to shine with VakıfBank. In 2013, her team won the gold medal at the Club World Championship.
Moving to Fenerbahçe
For the 2015–16 season, Gizem joined another big Turkish team, Fenerbahçe Grundig. She continued her career with this strong club.
Playing in Switzerland with Volero Zurich
In the 2016–17 season, Gizem moved to Switzerland. She played for Volero Zurich. This was her first time playing for a team outside of Turkey.
Joining Bursa Büyükşehir Belediyespor
After her time in Switzerland, Gizem returned to Turkey. She joined Bursa Büyükşehir Belediyespor for the 2017–18 season.
Returning to Galatasaray
On December 6, 2017, Gizem signed a contract with Galatasaray. She played for them for a year and a half.
Later, on April 19, 2021, Galatasaray HDI Sigorta signed a new two-year contract with Gizem. She was the team captain at that time. Her contract with Galatasaray ended on March 21, 2023.
Playing for Her Country
Gizem also played for the Turkish national volleyball team. In 2011, she helped her team win a silver medal at the European League. She was also recognized as the "Best Libero" in that competition.
Gizem's Personal Life
On May 12, 2013, Gizem Güreşen married Hüseyin Karadayı. He is a well-known disc jockey in Turkey. They later divorced in 2020.
