History of Glen Raven
Long ago, the land where Glen Raven is now was home to Native American people. These groups were known as the Altamahaw-Ossipee.
Later, a fabric maker named John Quinten Gant started a company here. This company grew into what is known today as Glen Raven Fabrics.
Achievements and Awards
Glen Raven Fabrics has achieved some amazing things. They made the special fabric used for the first American flag. This flag was planted on the moon!
The company, Glen Raven Inc., also received an important award. They got the "International Seal of Recommendation" for their fabrics. This award is for fabrics used in umbrellas and awnings. It was given by the Skin Cancer Foundation. This means their fabrics help protect people from the sun.
