Glenbrook is a special place in the Auckland Region of New Zealand. It's known for both its farms and its big industries. The most famous industry here is the New Zealand Steel mill. This mill is one of the biggest steel producers in the country!

Even though it's a big industrial area, it's surrounded by peaceful farms. You won't find many towns right next to the steel mill. The closest towns are Waiuku, about five kilometers south, and Pukekohe, about 15 kilometers east.

Glenbrook is also famous for something fun: the Glenbrook Vintage Railway. It's a great place to see old trains!

Glenbrook's History

The story of Glenbrook's industry began in 1967. That's when work started on the Glenbrook Steel Mill. This location was chosen for a good reason. It's close to the Waikato North Head ironsand mine. Ironsand is a special type of sand used to make steel. It was also near the Huntly Power Station, which provides electricity.
