Early Life and Education

Glenda Hatchett was born in Atlanta, Georgia. She went to Mount Holyoke College. In 1973, she earned her bachelor's degree in political science. The college later honored her in 2000. After that, she studied law at Emory University School of Law. She received her law degree in 1977.

Judge Hatchett's Career Journey

After law school, Glenda Hatchett worked for a federal court. Then, she joined Delta Air Lines. At Delta, she became the highest-ranking woman of color globally. She worked as a senior attorney. She also managed public relations for the airline. Her job included handling media and crises around the world. Ebony Magazine recognized her in 1990. They named her one of the "100 Best and Brightest Black Women in Corporate America." Emory University also gave her the Emory Medal. This is the highest award for an alum.
