Glenealo Valley is a special place in County Wicklow, Ireland. It is a national nature reserve, which means it's a protected area for nature. The valley covers about 4,838 acres (19.58 square kilometers).

Glenealo Valley became a national nature reserve in 1988. This made it a legally protected area. It's a wide, open valley found within the Wicklow Mountains.
What You'll See
The valley has a large flat area called a plateau. This plateau is covered in peatland and heathland.

Long ago, there was a mine in this valley. The mine closed down in the 1950s. When the miners left, they also left behind some goats. Today, you can still see wild goats living in the valley. They are descendants of those original miners' goats!
Exploring the Valley
Glenealo Valley is a great spot for hiking. It is part of a 10-kilometer (about 6.2 miles) walking trail. This trail is called the Spinc and Glenealo Valley Loop. It offers amazing views of the valley and the surrounding mountains.
