A Look at Glidas's Past
In earlier times, Glidas was an important trading post. It served as a place where farmers from the area could bring their goods. These goods were then collected and prepared to be sent for export. They would travel on the Ohio River, which was a major transportation route.
A post office was opened in Glidas in 1899. This allowed people in the community to send and receive mail. However, the post office did not stay open for very long. It was closed down in 1905.
