Goldenfry Foods is a British company that makes food products. It is located in Wetherby, a town in West Yorkshire, England. The company is well-known for making gravy products for many supermarkets. They also create their own food items. Goldenfry Foods has about 200 full-time employees. In 1999, they built a new, modern factory in Wetherby.
The History of Goldenfry Foods
Goldenfry Foods began as a small, local fish and chip shop in Wetherby. Over time, the business grew and started making gravy and other related products.
Building the Factory
In the 1960s, the Sandbeck Industrial Estate began to develop in Wetherby. Goldenfry started building a factory there. The company kept expanding its buildings on the site. By the 1990s, they had used all the available space.
To keep growing, Goldenfry tore down its old factory. They built a large, impressive new building. This modern factory opened in 1999. The company continued to make improvements and additions in 2010 and 2011.
While the new factory was being built, its steel frame could be seen from many parts of North East Wetherby. People gave it nicknames like Elland Road (a famous football stadium) and The Pepsi Max (a rollercoaster).
Protecting Company Ideas
In 2011, Goldenfry Foods had a legal case to protect its special recipes and business information. The company won the case. This meant that their unique ideas and ways of making food were protected.
