Golnar Servatian was born in 1977 in Tabriz, a city in East Azerbaijan Province, Iran. Her father, Behrouz Servatian, was a professor who taught Persian language and literature. Golnar started her professional journey in 2006. She began working as a graphic designer and a cartoonist.

Since 2006, Golnar has spent most of her time illustrating books and magazines for children. She has professionally illustrated around 50 books for young readers.
