Gonzalo Bravo de Grajera (born 1604 – died 1672) was an important leader in the Catholic Church. He served as a bishop in Spain during the 1600s. He was the Bishop of Coria from 1671 to 1672. Before that, he was the Bishop of Palencia from 1665 to 1671.

Life of Gonzalo Bravo de Grajera

Gonzalo Bravo de Grajera was born in a town called Arroyo de San Serván in Spain. This was in the year 1604.

Becoming a Bishop

In 1665, Gonzalo Bravo de Grajera was chosen to become the Bishop of Palencia. This happened when Pope Alexander VII was the head of the Catholic Church. A bishop is a high-ranking priest who leads a group of churches in a certain area.

In May 1666, he officially became a bishop. This special ceremony is called a consecration. He was consecrated by another bishop named Miguel Pérez Cevallos.

Serving as Bishop of Coria

Later, in 1671, he was appointed to be the Bishop of Coria. This appointment was made by Pope Clement X. He served as the Bishop of Coria for about a year.

Gonzalo Bravo de Grajera passed away on August 30, 1672. He was 68 years old. He died in Coria, Cáceres, Spain, the city where he was serving as bishop.
