Gough (pronounced GOF) is a small community in Burke County, Georgia, in the United States. It's a place where people live, but it doesn't have its own city government. It's also called a "census-designated place" (CDP), which means the U.S. Census Bureau counts its population separately.
Gough is located about 12 miles west of Waynesboro. You can find it along Georgia State Route 305.
History of Gough
Gough was started in 1905. It was named after J. P. Gough, who was the first owner of the land where the community was built.
Population Facts
In 2020, the 2020 U.S. Census counted 137 people living in Gough. This was the first time Gough was officially listed as a census-designated place.
