Goy facts for kids
Goy is a word that comes from the Hebrew language. It's found in the Jewish Bible, which is also known as the Old Testament. In the Bible, the word "goy" simply means "nation" or "people." It was used to describe any group of people, whether they were Jewish or not.
Over time, especially during the Roman era, the meaning of "goy" started to change. It began to be used more specifically to refer to people who were not Jewish. So, if someone was not part of the Jewish faith or community, they might be called a "goy."
When talking about more than one non-Jewish person or group, the plural form of the word is used. This plural word is Goyim.
