Grady Lamont Brewer (born December 22, 1970) is an American former boxer. He fought professionally from 1999 to 2015. Grady was a champion, holding titles like the IBA and International Boxing Council (IBC) Light Middleweight belts. He is best known for winning the TV show The Contender in 2006. Outside of boxing, he worked at the Goodyear factory in Lawton, Oklahoma. He did this to support his wife and their four children.

Grady Brewer: A Boxer's Journey
Grady Brewer grew up in a family of boxers. It was natural for him to start boxing too. He began his amateur career when he was 11 years old.
Early Boxing Days
As an amateur, Grady had a great record. He won 40 out of 45 fights. He also won the Oklahoma Golden Gloves tournament in his weight class. Later, he won a toughman tournament in his hometown of Lawton, Oklahoma. When he became a professional boxer, Grady often took fights on short notice. This meant he was known as a reliable "opponent" in the boxing world.
Winning The Contender
Grady Brewer became very famous after joining the ESPN reality show, The Contender. This show featured boxers competing against each other.
His Fights on the Show
- On the first episode, Grady was chosen for the Blue Team.
- He won his first fight against Vinroy Barrett.
- He then won his second fight against Michael Stewart. The judges all agreed he won.
- His third fight was very tough. Grady was knocked down early in the fight by Norberto Bravo. But he got back up and won the match.
The Championship Victory
On September 26, 2006, Grady fought Steve Forbes for the Contender title. The fight took place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. Grady won the championship by a split decision. This means some judges thought he won, and others thought Forbes won, but Grady had more votes.

After winning The Contender, Grady continued his boxing career. He had more important fights.
Key Wins and Titles
- In 2008, Grady fought Cornelius Bundrage. Bundrage was also a contestant on The Contender. Grady won this fight by a split decision. This win helped him get closer to an IBO title.
- On August 22, 2009, Grady fought Albert Onolunose. Grady won by knockout in the second round. This victory earned him the IBC Light Middleweight Title.
- On June 17, 2011, Grady had another big win. He knocked out Fernando Guerrero. Guerrero had not lost any fights before this.
