The Grand Olympic Auditorium was a very famous sports building in Los Angeles, California. It was built in 1924, especially for the 1932 Summer Olympics held in Los Angeles. This huge building was used for important events like boxing, weightlifting, and wrestling during the Olympics. When it first opened, it was the largest indoor sports place in the United States, with room for about 10,500 people! It officially opened on August 5, 1925, and famous people like boxer Jack Dempsey were there.

The Grand Olympic Auditorium became a very important place for sports and entertainment in Los Angeles. For many years, it was known as the home of exciting events.
Built for the Olympics
The main reason the Olympic Auditorium was built was to host events for the 1932 Summer Olympics. After the Olympics, it continued to be a popular spot. In the 1930s, 1940s, and 1950s, it hosted some of the biggest boxing matches, wrestling shows, and even roller derby games.
A Hub for Sports and Entertainment
The 1960s and 1970s were a really busy time for the Olympic Auditorium. Major wrestling events happened there almost every other Friday night. It was also the home of the T-Birds, a famous team that played a game called "Roller Derby," which was very popular.
Changes Over Time
In the late 1980s, the building was changed. About 3,000 seats were removed, making space for around 7,500 people. The Olympic Auditorium was also used for movies! Some scenes from the famous movie Rocky were filmed inside this historic building.
In June 2005, a church called the Glory Church of Jesus Christ bought the entire property. They changed the name of the building. In 2007, the arena was painted brown, just like it looked many years ago.
