Grand Texas Theme Park is an exciting new theme park opening near Houston, Texas in the United States. It is planned to open in Summer 2023. This park is part of a bigger area called the Grand Texas Sports and Entertainment District. You can find it in New Caney, Texas, Montgomery County, Texas, right by Interstate 69 in Texas (US Highway 59) and Texas State Highway 242. The park will have seven special areas, each celebrating the history and culture of Texas.
What to Expect at Grand Texas
Grand Texas Theme Park will be a fun place with seven different areas. Each area will explore a unique part of Texas history and culture. Imagine learning about Texas while having a great time! A company called Innovative Leisure Partners will manage the park.
Building the Park: Construction Timeline
Work on the Grand Texas Theme Park began in July 2013. A company from Houston called Brae Burn Construction Company is building the first parts of the park. GHA Architects, based in Dallas, are the ones designing how the park will look.
The official start of construction, called groundbreaking, was planned for late 2013. It was later announced that building the theme park would begin after the nearby Big Rivers Waterpark was ready.
Big Rivers Waterpark Opening
On December 14, 2017, a special ceremony was held to start building Big Rivers Waterpark and Gator Bayou Adventure Park. These parks were first set to open on June 29, 2018. However, bad weather during construction caused delays. Finally, Big Rivers Waterpark and Gator Bayou Adventure Park opened to the public on May 25, 2019.
