The Farmers Elevator Company
In 1904, a company called the Farmers Elevator Company of Graymont was started. Today, it is known as the Graymont Co-op Association. This company helped local farmers store and sell their crops. Even though the first buildings are gone, the company is still working today. It has grown to be one of the biggest businesses of its kind in Livingston County.
The State Bank of Graymont
Another important business for Graymont was its bank. The State Bank of Graymont opened its doors in 1913. Banks are important because they help people save money and borrow money for homes or businesses.
