Greater Israel facts for kids
Greater Israel (in Hebrew: Eretz Yisrael Hashlema) is a term that talks about the historical or desired borders of Israel. It's a bit like wanting to unite all lands that are seen as part of a country's history. This idea is sometimes called irredentism, which means a movement to get back land that was once part of a country or is believed to belong to it.
This term usually refers to the modern State of Israel along with the Palestinian territories. The idea of a "Land of Israel" is mentioned in the Bible. For example, you can find descriptions of its borders in these Bible verses: Genesis 15:18–21, Deuteronomy 11:24, Deuteronomy 1:7, Numbers 34:1–15, or Ezekiel 47:13–20.
